Romney Lewis

Romney Lewis is the Director of Community Engagement at the Black Male Educators Alliance (BMEA) and a dedicated leader in community outreach, digital marketing, and social media growth. With extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, workforce development, and mentorship, he has made a lasting impact in fostering meaningful relationships, expanding program visibility, and driving engagement initiatives that support educators and students.

Romney began his career as a Coordinator at Playworks in New York, where he developed a passion for mentorship, youth development, and program facilitation. Over the years, he has worked in various capacities, including Senior Manager at Stoked Mentoring Inc. and Supervisor of Housing-Based Career and Education Initiatives at The Door, helping to advance workforce training programs, career mentorship initiatives, and alumni engagement networks.

At BMEA, Romney plays a key role in overseeing community engagement initiatives, various youth trainings, and leading digital marketing efforts to enhance the organization’s reach. He leads efforts to strengthen BMEA’s visibility through social media growth, brand development, and outreach initiatives. Through initiatives such as alumni engagement, youth leadership development partnerships, and digital advocacy, Romney has helped drive measurable change by expanding BMEA’s educator network and elevating its online presence.

Beyond BMEA, Romney has been involved in community-based programs, nonprofit leadership, and mentorship initiatives that empower youth and educators. His expertise in strategic program development and digital engagement has contributed to the success of various workforce training and career readiness programs.

Romney Lewis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Advertising from Michigan State University and is certified in Design Thinking. He also attended the Boys of Color Protective Practices training with PACE in New York City, further deepening his expertise in equitable mentorship and youth development. A visionary in digital strategy and brand storytelling, he is committed to amplifying impactful narratives and driving engagement through innovative marketing and media solutions.
